Dr. Leila Morsy

Dr. Leila Morsy Economic Justice Research Fellow

Leila Morsy is a Senior Lecturer at the College of Medicine and Public Health at Flinders University in Australia, a senior VP at the Alliance for Clinician Equity, and a Research Associate with the Economic Policy Institute in Washington, D.C. She has written about the effects of children's social and economic conditions on their cognitive, behavioral, and health outcomes, including the effects of mass incarceration, parents' non-standard work schedules, access to medical care, exposure to lead in blood, and parenting. She is writing a book about the history of medical segregation and its contemporary consequences. She has a Masters in Teaching from Columbia University Teachers College and a Masters and Doctorate from the Harvard Graduate School of Education. Many of her articles can be found on her website and the Economic Policy Institute.
